Tamil actress Abhinaya acting in an English film

The buzz surrounding actress Abhinaya has just got bigger. The Hyderabadi girl who is all set to make her Bollywood debut with the Amitabh Bachchan- Dhanush-starrer Shamitabh, has bagged her maiden international film. She has been handpicked by internationally-acclaimed Assamese filmmaker and music composer Rupam Sarmah to play the lead in his upcoming international venture, Possibility in Disability.

"It's an Indian English film and she'll be playing the leading lady. It's a challenging role and I'm really thankful to the director and appreciate his efforts to pen such a script and rope her in the project," informs her father, Anand Varma.

Buzz has it that the actress, who is hearing impaired, is playing the role of a physically challenged person. However, Anand refused to divulge any details about the film, saying, "I cannot reveal anything about the role. All I can say is that it's a great role."

Sharing details about how the project happened, Varma says, "Director Rupam called me a couple of weeks ago with the proposal to cast Abhinaya for an international project. We flew down to Kolkata and met him for the script narration. Abhinaya loved it and gave the nod for the project."

Varma adds that Abhinaya will not take up anymore character roles from here on. "We'll not take up any roles that will feature Abhinaya in a sister's character. I feel she's a lot better than that and we'll start looking for individual roles."
